Christmas this year at St Augustine’s
2020 has been a year like no other. We are hoping to offer a little bit of normality over the Christmas period, and are looking to host most of our usual Christmas Services, albeit some in a different format this year.
In light of current restrictions, some of our services will be broadcast on our Facebook page, and some will be held in church, subject to current Government Guidelines, which may be subject to change at short notice.
As we are limited in numbers inside the church this year, some services will require reserving free tickets – the links for which are under each event. This will help us with Test and Trace, as well as contacting people should we need to change our plans.
Our Christmas services are planned as follows:
Sunday 19th December – Messy Christmas Live
Sunday 20th December – Carol Service
6pm – Our carol service this year will be broadcast on our Facebook page only. We will retell the Christmas Story through familiar readings and carols. Due to guidelines about singing in church, we will make sure the words are on the screen so you can sing along at home.
Thursday 24th December – Christmas Eve
6pm – Crib Service including the blessing of the crib.
11.30pm – Midnight Mass – our traditional midnight mass will take place in church and online. Due to restrictions we won’t be able to sing, but we will hear the organ during the service. This service will be ticketed due to limited numbers in the church and tickets can be obtained at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/midnight-mass-tickets-128801…
Order of Service for Midnight Mass
10.00am – Christmas Service – a short family service for Christmas morning in church and online. This service will be ticketed due to limited numbers in the church and places can be reserved at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/christmas-day-family-service…
