Welcoming our new Priest in Charge

On Monday 3rd June, we formally welcomed our new Priest in Charge, Revd Harvey Gibbons at a special service of licensing and celebration at St Barnabas, Gorse Hill.

The service was led by the Bishop of Swindon, the Archdeacon of Malmesbury and the Swindon Deanery Area Dean.  It was attended by parishioners from all three churches as well as invited guests including the Mayor of Swindon, local Councillors, representatives of the schools and other churches.  There were also members of Harvey’s former parishes in Warminster.

The hymns were O praise ye the Lord, Will you come and follow me and Guide me O thou great redeemer.  The choir sang “Lead me Lord” by Samuel Wesley.  During the service, the ministry teams of all three churches were commissioned.

Thank you from Harvey:

“A huge thank you to everyone for my welcome and licensing service on Monday evening and for the flowers and cards that have made the beginning our time with you so special. I look forward very much to living and working among you in the years to come.”
