What a great few days of celebrating God’s good gifts.
All of the pupils from Even Swindon (that’s over 500 of them) plus the teachers and support staff came to St Augustine’s for their annual Harvest festival. Due to the numbers, there were two services – the children were very enthusiastic and the singing was excellent.
This was followed by a brilliant Messy Church on the Saturday, which is growing and starting to pick up pace. Crafts included scarecrows, apple printing and making a splendid altar frontal which is currently adorning the high altar which includes falling leaves in autumnal colours, a rainbow, sunflower and real wheat and pipe cleaner vines to represent communion.
We then followed this with our church harvest thanksgiving which was based around the theme “Think of a world without…”. All in all, an excellent few days which certainly created a buzz!
A huge thank you for all the tins and packets which have been collected by Swindon Foodbank.
